Their product detail pages were thin, featuring only generic descriptions and a single product image, which hurt both SEO and user trust.


Additionally, cart abandonment rates were high, with many customers leaving before checkout. The company needed a way to capture new organic traffic, showcase product value more effectively, and improve checkout conversions to make their business model more sustainable.

Process

We started by conducting an in-depth SEO audit, identifying gaps in keyword coverage and opportunities for schema enhancements. Next, we overhauled the product detail pages (PDPs), shifting the focus from ingredients to customer outcomes, like “better digestion for sensitive pets” or “longer-lasting playtime for active dogs.” We added side-by-side comparison tables (“Kitten vs Adult,” “Hypoallergenic vs Regular”), which not only boosted SEO but also helped customers choose the right option.


To improve visibility in search, we implemented FAQ schema and review aggregate markup, pulling authentic testimonials directly onto the page. On the CRO side, we tested new exit-intent offers. Instead of offering a percentage discount, which reduced margins, we tested a free toy gift. This had a higher perceived value and actually increased average order value (AOV). We also improved site-wide UX by cutting page load times and polishing trust signals like payment icons and shipping guarantees. The combined effect was a site that ranked higher, converted more, and left customers more satisfied with their purchase journey.
